Why VERIFYI?
How well do you know your volunteers or perspective employees? In fact, you can never be too certain about the people you work with, especially when they work with those who are already at risk. That’s why there’s VERIFYI.

With VERIFYI, your organization has an efficient, cost-effective resource to perform thorough, multi-jurisdictional  background checks on both employee and volunteer applicants. VERIFYI also serves as an integral part of your risk management strategy by helping deter offenders from applying. In addition, many insurance companies actually require a multi-jurisdictional background check. VERIFYI fulfills this requirement.

Who needs VERIFYI?
The importance of adding a comprehensive background check program to your group’s staffing policy cannot be overstated.

Whether operating as an organization with a 501 (c)(3) status in Collin, Dallas, Denton or Tarrant county (Partner Members of the Volunteer Center), a church/faith-based organization, an organization such as a youth sports league, any tax-supported entity, an organization associated with TANO, ONESTAR or other nonprofit organizations not listed above that serves a vulnerable clientele, should use VERIFYI.

What is the cost for a VERIFYI criminal background check?
The cost for the search is $7.30.

What do I receive for $7.30?
You will receive a social security trace and a multi-jurisdictional database search (more than 300 million criminal records that includes all 50 states of sex offender registries); if you are in the State of Texas you will also receive information reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). This typically includes all prior arrests and convictions, including adjudicated records and juvenile offenses committed in Texas.

Do you provide other types of searches?
Yes, in addition to the standard search we also provide Motor Vehicle Reports in all 50 states.

Texas Motor Vehicle Search ONLY - $12.50 - (This searches only the Texas Driver's License database.)
Motor Vehicle Search (excluding Texas) - $16.50 - (This searches the Driver's License database according to the state license number you provide, excluding Texas.)

Do I need to have the volunteer sign a release form?
Yes, you must have every applicant complete and sign a release form before you run their background search.

What is your turnaround time for a search?
Our standard turnaround is the next business day. However, if you have a special need or circumstance we can get the results back sooner. Please call or email VERIFYI for additional information regarding turn around.

I have submitted names for processing but have not received a response. What should I do?
The standard response time is the next business day after your initial submission. If you do not receive a response after two business days, or if your links do not work correctly for some reason, contact us.

How do I know my submission has been processed?
You will receive an email notification with a list of names and hyperlinks. Click on the hyperlink to view the report for each name.

The Texas Motor Vehicle Report states: THIS TYPE RECORD WILL NOT REFLECT OFFENSES OR RELATED SUSPENSIONS UNDER ALCOHOL BEVERAGE CODE 106.041 OR 106.071. What does this mean?
The Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission has a section of code that references minors: Chapter 106 - Provisions Relating To Age. Code 106.041 refers to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by a Minor and Code 106.071 refers to Punishment for Alcohol-Related Offense by a Minor. In essence, the Motor Vehicle Report will not show alcohol-related offenses committed by a minor. More information can be found by visiting the TABC website at http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/leginfo/minorcode.htm.

What do the letters CCH, SOR, and NBF stand for?
These acronyms are used by Texas Department of Public Safety and may be found on your results.

CCH = Computerized Criminal History (record supported by fingerprints).
SOR = Sex Offender Registry.
NBF = Name Based File (record unsupported by fingerprints).
